Thursday, May 20, 2021, is the tenth annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), which focuses on digital equality for the one billion people in the world with a disability. GAAD activities at the University of Chicago are coordinated by the Center for Digital Accessibility (CDA).

Below is a summary of the CDA’s agenda for GAAD:

  • Ask us anything – Schedule a 20-minute personal meeting with the CDA to ask us anything about the digital accessibility of your websites, documents, and other electronic content.
  • Request access to Siteimprove – If you own or manage a University website, discuss the possibility of using Siteimprove with the CDA. Siteimprove is the University’s enterprise tool for assessing and strengthening the accessibility of your website.
  • Navigate a website without a mouse – Experience first-hand the accessibility challenges encountered by people who can’t or don’t use a mouse.
  • Watch a training video – In less than an hour, you can learn more about digital accessibility by watching one of the CDA-created training videos.

The CDA looks forward to celebrating this important day with the UChicago community!
