In Winter Quarter 2018, the Academic Technology Solutions group conducted online surveys of University of Chicago students and faculty/instructors to see how they’re using the newly adopted Canvas learning management system, what they think of Canvas so far, and which features of Canvas they’d like to explore further in the future. The results of those surveys are now in, and they illuminate just how successful Canvas has been in its first year of use. Did you know that:
96% of students log into Canvas a few times a week or more?
73% of students agree that Canvas supports their learning?
75% of students feel that their instructors use Canvas effectively in the classroom?
82% of faculty and instructors have taken advantage of Canvas help resources?
Would you like to hear more about how students and faculty are responding to Canvas? Are you curious about how faculty are using Canvas to innovate in their pedagogy? Then join us at Canvas Day, Wednesday, April 25 at the Regenstein Library. A panel of students will offer their thoughts about Canvas, and faculty will give presentations on cutting-edge pedagogical techniques. We hope to see you there!
